The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment. This position is located within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). The OIG has statutory oversight responsibility covering the United States Capitol Police (USCP). This oversight responsibility includes conducting and reporting on audits, inspections, investigations, and special inquiries of all USCP organizational entities. These audits encompass the following: (a) the operating, administration, and financial activities of USCP Bureaus and Offices; and are directed to determine compliance with applicable laws, economy, and efficiency and/or achievement of program results; and (b) selected claims, costs, cost proposals, and cost and pricing data arising from loans or other agreements entered into by USCP.
