About The Position

CGS is seeking a highly skilled Auditor to provide general auditing and accounting services in support of fraud investigations involving complex financial transactions. The role involves developing technical audit guidelines, analyzing various accounting systems, and ensuring effective communication throughout investigations. The ideal candidate will contribute to government innovation and professional growth in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Four-year undergraduate degree or higher in statistical/data analysis, finance, accounting, fraud examination, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in finance, accounting, fraud examination, or statistical/data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing and understanding medical records and knowledge of medical billing procedures.
  • Experience using STARS and/or Business Objects.
  • Relevant experience working with a federal or state legal or law enforcement entity.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and audit a variety of accounting systems.
  • Organize and present large volumes of data such as bank records, financial records, and healthcare claims.
  • Assist with planning investigations, performing quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Prepare concise and accurate reports of analysis results, including charts and summaries.
  • Conduct conferences and interviews with representatives of financial institutions and potential witnesses.
  • Utilize electronic databases to identify assets and documents.
  • Analyze an individual or corporation's ability to pay monetary penalties based on financial disclosures.
  • Develop, coordinate, and issue draft technical audit guidelines for financial audits.
  • Prepare interim and final reports throughout the investigation process.
  • Arrange for secure storage and organization of documentary evidence.
  • Assist in the compilation and analysis of documents and physical evidence for trial use.
  • Meet with federal agency personnel and state/local officials as needed.
