About The Position

The Auto Body Technician role at Caliber involves repairing vehicles in accordance with company standards and industry guidelines. The technician is responsible for disassembling vehicles to assess damage, planning repair procedures, and ensuring all repairs are completed safely and profitably. Responsibilities

• Complete dis-assembly of vehicle to assist Service Advisors in assessing damage.
• Ensure all needed repairs are identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time.
• Plan work procedure by following work orders for all operations listed.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, and equipment to gain access to damaged areas of the vehicle.
• Store parts properly to eliminate potential damage.
• Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.
• Ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged parts and reassemble after painting.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools such as welders, cutting torches, and spray guns.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before handing over to the Paint Department.
• Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles for compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Wash and prepare vehicles for customer return.
• Comply with all Caliber safety rules, guidelines, and standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
