Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to join our team in Easley, SC. The Auto Body Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that each vehicle is restored to its pre-accident condition, providing a meticulous assessment and quality repair process. In this role, the Auto Body Technician will be responsible for disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles while adhering to our WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. This includes planning the necessary repair work, preparing cost estimates, and utilizing various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks. The technician will also be involved in hammering out dents, mixing and applying filler resins, realigning car chassis, and replacing damaged sections of vehicles with new or aftermarket parts. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for replacing or repairing glass and windshields, as well as interior parts as needed. The Auto Body Technician will ensure that all work is completed within labor time guidelines and will conduct thorough inspections of vehicles post-repair to guarantee that all work has been executed correctly. Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
  • Plan the repair work that is necessary and prepare cost estimates for customers.
  • Use various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
  • Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage if possible; mix and apply filler resins to repair dents when other methods are not feasible.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
  • Replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
  • Weld and otherwise attach or fit parts into place and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
  • Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
  • Ensure all work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Auto Body Technician or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using various automotive repair tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
