About the position

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We have an opening for an Automation Engineer based in our Fort Worth, Texas yogurt manufacturing facility. In this role, you will deliver strategic business projects and make an impact. This position plays a key role in the implementation of new technologies within our factory and have direct contact with stakeholders and suppliers on all kinds of levels. You will be part of the selection of projects (define, develop, implement, launch and close) on industrial automation topics.

Responsibilities

  • Be a counterpart for engineering in some main strategic technical projects for the industrial automation part.
  • Leads and implements industrial automation solutions according to URS and makes sure IA and IT standards are respected as well as all GMP rules.
  • Leads, empowers and instructs suppliers and internal/external Automation Engineers in the Select, Define, Develop, Implement, Launch and Closing phase of the project steps.
  • Security: data integrity and backups.
  • Communicates and convinces on all levels of the organization internal and suppliers.
  • Support the CAPEX projects on the automation side by anticipating any impact on automation given by the project.
  • Control of cost and invoicing of the automation projects and propose solutions in case of over cost.
  • Provide automation/technical support to Operations due to breakdowns, controls challenges, etc.
  • Work with maintenance to address automation/controls issues on production lines.
  • Ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE).
  • Participate and own the implementation and development of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and its pillars.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering disciplines).
  • 3+ years' experience in manufacturing (preferably in food or FMCG).
  • Experience and working knowledge in plant wide automation network design.
  • Allen Bradley Rockwell PLC programming.
  • Industrial networking and communication protocols (OPC-UA, EthernetIP, Modbus TCP, IO Link, AS-i).
  • Basic electrical knowledge and comfort working with 24VDC, 120VAC and 480VAC control systems and their associated components.
  • Auto Cad and Microsoft Visio.
  • Familiarity with SCADA or HMI systems such as Ignition and Factory Talk View SEME.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and SQL programming is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft server environments.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Organized and self-disciplined to manage the management of concurrent projects.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in IT and OT network segregation.
  • Fast learner, open to learn new things and adapts to change.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
