About the position

The Automation Quality Engineer II at Cognizant Technology Solutions is responsible for software integration testing and test automation, ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves analyzing test failures, designing and automating tests, and collaborating with teams across different geographical regions. The position requires strong programming skills and familiarity with CI/CD environments, contributing to the quality engineering transformation journey for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Software integration testing and test automation
  • Analyze and triage test failures
  • Designing and automating new tests
  • Escalate and report key quality issues and drive issues to resolution
  • Regular interaction with teams located in different geographical regions
  • Create, improve and maintain automated tests for functional and model validation to success on CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional work experience as Software Development Engineer or related fields
  • Expert programming skills in an OOP language, preferably Python, Swift, or Java
  • Familiarity with CI/CD environments

Nice-to-haves

  • Able to write shell scripts and familiar with XCode
  • Test automation experience (XCTest a plus)
  • Familiar with Apple OS platforms, debugging or profiling tools
  • Proven ability to analyze and find root causes in multitiered, client server environments
  • Testing server backend services at the API or protocol level
  • Working understanding of test types and their purpose (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • Familiar with different logging and analytics concepts
  • Basic Unix admin skills
  • Any background in server-side automation is a plus
  • Experience with git and any source code solutions
  • Familiarity with technologies/systems like Solr, Kafka, Redis, Splunk, PostGres DB, AWS S3, Docker, WireFrame UI design
  • Familiarity with ML systems and how to test ML models is a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Previous experience working with Virtual Assistants is a plus
