About the position

The Automotive Parts and Accessories Counterperson at Parks of Gainesville is responsible for selling automotive parts to customers, whether they are visiting the store, calling in, or working through the shop. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive the right parts in a timely manner, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Counterperson will oversee the entire parts sales process, starting from customer inquiries to locating the necessary parts and invoicing the customers. This role requires effective communication skills to keep customers informed about the status of their orders and to provide updates on parts that need to be special ordered. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Counterperson will collaborate closely with the parts manager to identify and source parts that may not be in stock. This includes completing special order requests and ensuring that customers are notified promptly when their parts arrive at the dealership. The position also involves serving as a backup to the stocking clerk when necessary, which requires a good understanding of inventory management and organization. Responsibilities

  • Oversees the parts sales process from customer inquiry to finding the part to invoicing the customer.
  • Works with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock.
  • Completes special order parts requests for any parts that need to be ordered for the customer.
  • Communicates with customer on the status of any parts ordered and notifies them upon delivery to the dealership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as backup to stocking clerk as necessary.
  • Communicates with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
  • People focused and strives to provide great customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
  • Proficient computer skills preferred.
  • Valid and current Driver's License with ability to maintain a good driving record.
