About the position

The Bakken Area Skills Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Instructor for the 2024-25 school year. This position is essential for providing high-quality career and technical education to students in the automotive field. The instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive curriculum that meets state standards and prepares students for careers in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will possess a North Dakota CTE Teaching License or have a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience. The role may be offered as either full-time or part-time, depending on the qualifications and availability of the applicant. This is a 9-month position, aligning with the academic calendar, and the salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience and professional credentials. The Bakken Area Skills Center is a newly established Regional K-12 CTE Center located in northwest North Dakota, dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities in career and technical fields.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive automotive curriculum that aligns with state standards.
  • Teach automotive theory and practical skills to students in a classroom and shop environment.
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment in the automotive shop.
  • Collaborate with other educators and industry professionals to enhance the program.
  • Stay current with automotive technology and industry trends to ensure relevant instruction.

Requirements

  • North Dakota CTE Teaching License or four years of industry experience in automotive technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
