AV Technician (Video)

About the position

The AV Technician (Video) at Crossroads Church is responsible for managing and executing live technical video elements during various events. This role involves setting up and supporting rehearsals, live, virtual, or hybrid events, and collaborating closely with the Senior Video Technician and other team members. The technician will also engage in equipment maintenance, video production, and training volunteers in equipment operation, ensuring high-quality video experiences for the church community.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, minister to, organize, train, and schedule volunteers.
• Set up asset files (graphics, video, lyrics) for use.
• Test video systems and files.
• Maintain video systems for weekly use and assist with various projects.
• Participate in video shoots, recordings, student ministry events, and camps as needed.
• Troubleshoot technical systems as needed.
• Participate in team, production, and other necessary meetings.
• Work with the site experience team to adapt and execute changes as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience; College Degree preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of Google web platform and willingness to learn other software tools as needed.
• Organized, disciplined with priorities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• High level understanding of broadcast standards, including SDI/HD-SDI, common video codecs, and audio signal flow.
• Technical experience with video equipment including Mac OS X, ProPresenter, Adobe Media Suite, Aja video systems, DiGiCo digital audio, and more.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with broadcast engineering and on & off-site troubleshooting.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in managing volunteers.
