About the position

The Avionics & Electrical Engineering Internship at United Launch Alliance (ULA) offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers, participate in various engineering tasks, and support larger projects while learning about the day-to-day operations of a leading space launch company. This internship is designed to provide valuable insights into the engineering processes involved in designing, building, and launching rockets.

Responsibilities

  • Support experienced engineers in performance of assignments and shadow actual operations.
  • Perform analysis on existing flight hardware and assist in the design and development of future hardware.
  • Conduct data analysis, improve analysis methodologies, and manage software improvement projects.
  • Create or modify tool designs and process cause and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Maintain production work instructions and manage supplier relationships.
  • Apply latest technology concepts to resolve productivity and product flow issues.
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bill of Materials and coordinate between design engineering and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Completed freshman year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application.
  • Valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned in specific locations.
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2025.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2025.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
