About The Position

The Resident Assistant (Memory Care) at Elder Care Alliance is responsible for providing personal care and services to residents with dementia, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with individual service plans. This role emphasizes supportive and resident-centered care, enhancing the quality of life for older adults through various activities of daily living, communication, and documentation of care provided.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services.
• Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months.
• Current First Aid Training and Certifications as per Title 22.
• Minimum of one year experience working with seniors or be a current CNA, preferably in a long term care environment.
• Working knowledge of computers and typing sufficient for computerized Point of Care systems.
• Effective English verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
• Passion, sensitivity, and knowledge of working with older adults and dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and services to residents with dementia according to their individual service plans.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and bathroom assistance.
• Documents care through electronic charting and communicates with residents about their needs.
• Maintains current knowledge of each resident's basic needs and special care plans.
• Encourages resident independence in activities of daily living and socialization.
• Performs group and individual activities with residents each shift.
• Escorts residents to and from appointments and activities as needed.
• Monitors nourishment and assists with meal setup and between-meal snacks.
• Observes residents for any changes in physical or behavioral condition and reports to the Supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of resident living areas and furnishings.
• Demonstrates understanding of safety procedures and responds to emergency situations.
