About the position
The Business Account Executive is responsible for selling primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses within a specified territory. This role focuses on generating new customers for Internet, voice, and video services, as well as implementing a Territory Plan to expand the customer base. The Account Executive will achieve sales and revenue goals through effective prospecting and selling bundled services.
Responsibilities
- Sell primary and ancillary communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses.
- Generate sales leads through various prospecting tactics.
- Develop and implement a Territory Plan to expand the customer base.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities using Salesforce.com.
- Support customer experience efforts and place orders through order management software.
- Collaborate with Account Coordinator for non-automated orders and administrative tasks.
- Attend and participate in sales meetings as established by management.
- Continuously improve selling skills and product knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Knowledge of communications technologies and services, particularly telephone and Internet fundamentals.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Nice-to-haves
- 3-5 years of business-to-business sales experience preferred.
- Outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cycle model preferred.
- Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets preferred.
