About the position

Solvay is a pioneering chemical company that emphasizes the importance of collaboration and innovation among its employees. The Back Office Representative role is situated within the Customer Service department, which consists of a dedicated team of 10 individuals. This position is crucial for managing the physical flows and documentation of finished goods within a specific supply chain operation, which includes packaging, storage, material handling, and transportation. The primary goal is to ensure that finished goods are available on time and meet or exceed customer expectations. As a Back Office Representative, you will be responsible for reviewing open shipping orders to determine the necessary quantity and type of transportation required, as well as any specific customer requests. You will plan and execute order fulfillment, prepare and distribute all necessary documents for the shipment of finished goods and equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Additionally, you will schedule carriers for packaged goods shipments, maintain accurate finished goods inventory, coordinate physical inventory counts, and reconcile SAP to ensure inventory accuracy. You will also coordinate fleet maintenance with the commercial supply chain for Peroxides. This role offers a permanent full-time position at the manufacturing site, providing an opportunity to contribute to the company's mission of delivering essential solutions globally while promoting sustainability and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Review open shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed as well as any customer specific requests.
  • Plan and execute order fulfillment.
  • Prepare and distribute all necessary documents for shipment of finished goods and equipment while meeting DOT regulations.
  • Schedule carriers for packaged goods shipments by contacting specific/non-specific carriers in a timely manner to ensure on-time shipments.
  • Maintain accurate finished goods inventory; coordinate physical inventory counts and reconcile SAP to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance with commercial supply chain for Peroxides.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Customer service and logistics operational experience preferred.
  • Proficient with G Suite (Google Apps) including Gmail, Hangouts, Calendar, and Google+ for communication; Drive for storage; Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites for collaboration.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office applications with a focus on Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint.
