Employees will spend significant time in the lab, mastering fundamental methods, familiarizing themselves with the company's products, and demonstrating critical thinking and technical skills. As employees gain foundational technical knowledge, they will take on more independent responsibilities in executing specific project activities. The role also encourages the exploration of new approaches to experimentation and the development of new skills that contribute to the overall learning culture within the organization. Other duties may be assigned as needed, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Complete onboarding requirements for Mennel systems, operations, and safety.
  • Build a foundation of R&D skills through hands-on experimentation and problem-solving.
  • Collaboratively work with others to develop technical understanding and learn about innovation through experimentation.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the fundamental science and technology in their area.
  • Engage in hands-on experimentation to meet project objectives.
  • Seek new approaches to experimentation and develop new skills to promote a learning culture.
  • Spend a majority of time in the lab mastering fundamental methods and familiarizing with products.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and technical understanding in project execution.
  • Take on independent responsibility for applying technical knowledge once foundational knowledge is established.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Baking Science, Milling Science, Food Science, Food Chemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Strong research aptitude and technical skills are essential.
  • Solid communication skills to interact productively with all levels of the organization are necessary.
  • Self-starter with a high level of self-motivation.
