About the position

At Lazy Dog, we are excited to announce the opening of our new location in Northbrook, IL, at the end of August. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests. This position offers a part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, allowing you to work every weekend. You will earn $8.40 per hour plus tips, and your shifts will vary from Monday to Friday, 11 am to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to midnight. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for mixing, garnishing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes. You will ensure that all guests are served responsibly, adhering to state and federal liquor laws, and maintaining a well-organized bar environment. Your role will also involve building connections with guests, learning their names, and creating a fun atmosphere for everyone. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to learn and grow within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests of the bar and dining room following standard recipes.
  • Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks.
  • Understand and comply with proper state and federal liquor laws, including validating ID processes and alcohol awareness procedures.
  • Maintain a well-organized and well-run bar environment.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members.
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment while striving for perfection in service.

Requirements

  • Responsible Beverage Service Certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in a bartending or hospitality role is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cocktail preparation and mixology.
  • Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
