The University of Virginia, Facilities Management (FM), is seeking a BAS Application Engineer. BAS Application Engineers provide technical expertise and support on building automation system (BAS) for building mechanical systems, infrastructure systems, energy generation, and distribution systems. They are responsible for identifying, evaluating, implementing, and programming new BAS technologies. BAS Application Engineers are responsible for making decisions required to implement control system projects and programs, including technology choices and programming strategies. They possess advanced problem solving and programming knowledge of electronic controllers. BA law Application Engineers provide proven competency in electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems. They may also train users, mechanics, and less senior control technicians in electronic controllers. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic, and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of UVA's buildings, infrastructure, and grounds, in addition to managing capital construction and renovation for University-owned and leased properties. FM's Automation Services Department installs, maintains, and optimizes the building automation system (BAS) infrastructure throughout the University. The department has three core teams; Construction and Renovation, Service, and Engineering. The engineering team is composed of eight members representing a variety of disciplines (networking, test and balance, and design/project management) who report directly to the Engineering Manager.
