About the position

In this role, you will support the development and testing of Battery Pack End of Line (EOL) processes. You will collaborate with various teams including Battery Manufacturing, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Quality to create and execute test plans for Production Battery Manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include supporting electrical testing at both the Battery Pack and Component levels, designing in-house test rigs and equipment, and conducting Process Failure Modes Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate risks. You will analyze test data and communicate findings with engineering and production teams, develop automated test equipment as necessary, and support Battery Pack qualification testing. Additionally, you will work with Facilities on the installation and commissioning of equipment, and train and oversee technicians and operators on the use of test equipment and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support Battery Pack End of Line (EOL) development and testing
  • Collaborate with Battery Mfg, BMS, & Quality teams to develop and execute test plans for Production Battery Mfg
  • Support Battery Pack & Component level electrical testing
  • Design In-House Test rigs and equipment
  • Support Process Failure Modes Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and migrate risks
  • Analyze test data and share with engineering & production teams
  • Develop automated test equipment as needed
  • Support Battery Pack qualification testing
  • Work with Facilities on install and commissioning of equipment
  • Train and oversee technicians and operators on usage of test equipment and safety

Requirements

  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a Battery design, Battery Mfg test, or Battery R&D testing environment
  • Experience testing Battery Pack Electrically
  • Experience with high voltage systems: cars, aircraft, etc.
  • Experience with a wide variety of DAQ systems
  • Demonstrated project execution experience
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Hands-on experience with PLM software, preferably Teamcenter and NX
  • Hands-on experience with LabView
  • Proficient with CANoe, CANalyzer, PCAN
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to travel to test facilities, Archer Mfg facility, and supplier facilities
  • Experience with Automation and Data Processing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
  • Experience with AVL, Chroma, and/or other Test Systems
  • Experience with Environmental test equipment
  • PLC, robot, gantry, and automation programming and troubleshooting experience
  • DO-160G, DO-311A, UN 38.3 test standards expertise
