About the position

The Center for Social Dynamics (CSD) is seeking a Behavior Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team. This position offers a starting pay of $20-$26 per hour based on experience, along with a flexible schedule and paid training. As a Behavior Specialist, you will implement evidence-based mental health services and Applied Behavioral Analysis programs for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. You will work under the guidance of the Clinical Leader and Clinical Director, providing services in various settings including homes and centers. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and explore career options while making a positive impact on the lives of children.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts 100% of scheduled sessions unless time-off has been granted or the parents have communicated otherwise.
  • Primarily responsible for conducting subbing sessions for other clients to sustain productivity if a session is cancelled by the family.
  • Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Intervention Plans as directed by the Clinical Director and other clinical staff.
  • Travels to various settings to deliver services, including homes and community locations.
  • Renders completed sessions daily and writes thorough notes.
  • Communicates schedule changes and cancellations to the clinical team immediately.
  • Participates in regular meetings and communicates with Clinical Leaders regarding Treatment Plans and family concerns.
  • Completes necessary clinical documentation and communication, including Daily Treatment Session Notes and Behavior Data.
  • Remains current regarding new research and trends in special education and related fields.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-services, trainings, and other meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with children and making a difference.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Flexible availability, especially Monday through Thursday from 3-8 pm and Saturdays.
  • Complete new hire training conducted online and in person.
  • Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, and COVID - California mandated).
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Sensitivity to working with a diverse population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledgeable in computer/word processing software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques.
