About the position

PACE (Pacific Autism Center for Education) is looking for entry-level or experienced behavior therapists for our Faces program which offers 1:1 (ABA) behavioral therapy to children 18 months and older primarily in our Clinic and/or in the child's home. Under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor (BCBA), Behavior Therapists utilize the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to work on social, communication and play skills, as well as behavior management with children. We want to meet you if you are interested in working part time, 2pm-5pm, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 ABA behavioral therapy to children aged 18 months and older.
  • Work under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor (BCBA).
  • Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis techniques to improve social, communication, and play skills.
  • Manage behaviors and implement treatment plans as directed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Associates Degree (A.A.) or Bachelor's Degree preferred in psychology, behavior, or child development.
  • Experience working with children who have challenging behaviors and developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be playful, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic.
  • Strong writing skills required to document treatment sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to read and implement written treatment directions and collect numeric data.
  • Completion of training competencies and a period of supervision hours as established by the Clinical Supervisors is required.
  • Must have a clear physical health and TB test prior to employment and routinely during employment as required.
  • Must possess and maintain a clear DOJ (Department of Justice), FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) clearance prior to and during employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • RBT or BCaBA certification preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license with a good driving record, proof of insurance, and access to an automobile for travel to therapy sessions and training sessions.
