About the position
The Psychiatric Tech provides quality of care to the patients. Assists with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all assigned patients' care in collaboration with a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Charge Nurse in performing clerical duties on unit.
- Promote good communication between team members.
- Monitor detoxing and/or mentally unstable patients.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- Preferably one-year experience in a hospital, or long term care facility.
- Prefer some college classes in psychology.
- Prefer C.N.A. certification in the State of Tennessee.
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross); if not current upon hire must obtain within 6 months.
- SAMA certification required; if not current must obtain within 90 days.
