The Benefits Administrator / HR Coordinator position at Babcock Power is a vital role that provides comprehensive support in benefits administration, HRIS management, and general HR functions specifically tailored for the company's expanding construction business. This position is designed to ensure that the HR needs of the construction divisions are met efficiently, while also serving as a backup for the Benefits & HRIS Analyst. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including data entry and system administration, benefits management, and general HR support for smaller divisions that may not have dedicated HR personnel. In terms of system administration, the Benefits Administrator will be responsible for entering and maintaining employee data across various information systems, ensuring data integrity through regular reviews and confirmations of accuracy. This includes partnering with the Benefits & HRIS Analyst to maintain user documentation and procedures, as well as providing backup support during the Analyst's absences. The benefits administration aspect of the role involves acting as the primary point of contact for construction employees regarding their benefits. This includes supporting the administration of Babcock Power's Employee Benefit Plans during annual open enrollment periods, managing mid-year event changes, and overseeing 401K enrollment processes. The Administrator will also assist in communicating benefits information to seasonal and field workforces, ensuring that employees are well-informed about their eligibility and any changes to their plans. Additionally, the role includes general HR administration tasks such as addressing employee inquiries about company policies and benefits, maintaining personnel and training records, and assisting in recruitment efforts. This involves posting job openings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and managing pre-employment processes. The Administrator will also handle new employee orientations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and conduct exit interviews as necessary. Overall, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the HR functions of Babcock Power's construction divisions, ensuring that employees receive the necessary support and resources to thrive in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Enter employee data into various information systems and maintain data integrity.
  • Partner with the Benefits & HRIS Analyst to maintain system user documentation and procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Benefits Administration for construction employees.
  • Support administration of Employee Benefit Plans for annual open enrollment and mid-year event changes.
  • Assist with benefit communication targeted at seasonal and field workforces.
  • Distribute targeted employee benefit communications regarding eligibility and plan changes.
  • Assist in handling questions about company policies and procedures and employee issues.
  • Maintain employee personnel and training records.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts by posting open positions and reviewing resumes.
  • Schedule interviews and make travel arrangements for candidates as needed.
  • Handle new employee orientations and maintain I-9 records.
  • Prepare and process new employee paperwork and conduct exit interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Human Resources, Payroll, or Benefits preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Customer-service focused with strong written and oral communication skills.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $42,250 - $63,750 annually.
