That's why we're searching for a standout Benefits Administrator-who has strong experience with 401k and Pension Plans! The Benefits Administrator analyzes, administers, and communicates enterprise-wide benefit programs and may focus primarily on one or more plan types, including, but not limited to, health and welfare, 401(k) retirement plans, wellness, and other voluntary plans. This role will have an emphasis on managing and enhancing complex 401(k) programs, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements, and supporting fiduciary responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular analysis and audits of assigned plans and programs to ensure regulatory compliance, with a specific focus on 401(k) plan operations and fiduciary oversight.
  • Effectively communicate plan features, enrollment and participation requirements, and considerations relating to eligibility and enrollment, including interaction with company and government-sponsored programs.
  • Ensure accurate, timely processing of enrollments, eligibility notifications, invoice reconciliation and remittance, and related payroll deductions and status changes.
  • Provide backup coverage and support for all plans, including leave of absence programs and retirement benefits.
  • Accurately enter, process, review, and complete plan elections and status changes in HR and vendor systems.
  • Develop and deliver communications and materials related to assigned benefit and/or retirement program options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements.
  • Gather and analyze competitor and market benefit and/or retirement program market data, specifically for retirement plan trends and regulatory updates.
  • Analyze utilization, claims, costs, features, and related data and recommend plan changes to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide timely eligibility, enrollment information, and materials to participants.
  • Coordinate resolution of claims, enrollment, and eligibility issues with vendors, brokers, and employees.
  • Partner with brokers and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) to administer annual and new hire enrollment processes for assigned plans.
  • Oversee 401(k) plan administration, including managing vendor relationships, distributions, loans, audits, and compliance with ERISA and fiduciary requirements.
  • Audit, reconcile, and coordinate invoice remittance processes, including researching and resolving billing errors and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate transactions affecting employee wages and taxes with Payroll.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports, census data, and supporting information for benefit audits and plan renewals.
  • Provide support and backup for Leave of Absence processes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with 401k and Pension Plans.
  • Knowledge of ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in benefits administration and compliance.
