About the position

CubeSmart is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team at our Malvern, PA headquarters. The Benefits Coordinator provides front-line, best of class customer service to all CubeSmart teammates for all Company benefit plans. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for all CubeSmart teammate questions related to all Company benefits programs including health and welfare, Health Savings, Flexible Spending, 401k, Life and disability, etc.
  • Partner with benefits brokers and vendors to review, research, and resolve escalated teammate benefits inquiries.
  • Maintain content on our internal Benefits Site to ensure materials such as videos, images and flyers are up to date and relevant to our teammates.
  • Partner with our vendors to review educational materials and distribute relevant information to our teammates.
  • Assist in the development and implement the department's annual benefits teammate communications calendar based on statutory requirements, internal deadlines, promote benefits offerings, events programs.
  • Promote benefit offerings, events, programs to teammates through social media (Yammer), Company-wide video announcements, joining departments' conference calls and email.
  • During Open Enrollment season, provide support as needed on developing/updating communication materials, responding to teammate questions, conduct post Open Enrollment audits and partnering with vendors to ensure a successful new year transition.
  • Process all new teammate benefit elections and benefit changes (EOI, dependent verification, change in eligibility, life events).
  • Complete requests & reporting from government entities such as National Medical Support Notices, Medicare and subpoenas.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly invoices for all group insurance policies, work with carrier for any corrections, submit invoice for payment and track all monthly costs.
  • Conduct regular audits of all active and terminated teammate benefits coverages and deductions to ensure all systems are accurate and partner with Carrier, COBRA provider, Payroll, HRIS or Benefits team member to correct needed information.
  • On a weekly basis, process payroll reimbursements such as tuition, tobacco cessation, and health savings contributions and fund needed contributions to carriers.
  • Track monthly enrollment and other benefits metrics and review with the Benefits team to identify any trends and solutions.
  • Review the weekly file feed summary of our medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA and ancillary plans to ensure successful data transfer.
  • Partner with HRIS Team to make any necessary corrections.
  • Assist with implementation of any new carriers, initiatives, and programs.
  • Provide administrative support during our annual 401(k) Audit.
  • Support Sr. Benefits Specialist with Workers' Compensation and Leave of Absence related tasks such as submitting workers' compensation claims, responding to requests for pay information, tracking and collecting return to work documents, and answering general leave-related questions.
  • Provide additional support for other team projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • One to three years of employee benefits administration experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Microsoft Office Proficient - experience with Excel and managing large amounts of data.
  • Experience with multiple HRIS/Payroll systems preferred
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, PPACA, Section 125, Medicare requirements preferred.
