About the position

The Benefits Coordinator at Regal Medical Group, Inc. is responsible for providing accurate and timely information regarding prior authorization requests. This role ensures that correct benefits, co-pays, and financial responsibilities are communicated effectively to facilitate the authorization or denial of services. The position requires a strong understanding of healthcare processes and compliance with regulations, while maintaining patient confidentiality and supporting team efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and accurate information to prior authorization requests.
  • Verify eligibility and benefits on all requests from Prior Authorization.
  • Verify financial responsibility for all requests.
  • Maintain turnaround time compliance in all aspects of the UM process.
  • Maintain all reference material provided by the supervisor, manager, or director.
  • Know and follow the Employee Handbook policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality to ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity in everyday activities.
  • Recognize and report errors to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintain regulatory turnaround time standards per CMS and ICE.
  • Assist other staff and support a team approach.
  • Communicate appropriately and clearly to management and co-workers.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience with HMO referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare and Managed Care preferred.
  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute with accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
