About the position

The Benefits Coordinator at Oklahoma State University is responsible for administering and overseeing employee and student benefits programs. Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee employee and student benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits.
  • Develop and implement employee communication strategies to promote awareness of benefit programs.
  • Coordinate new employee and annual enrollment benefit orientation sessions.
  • Organize benefit education programs, seminars, and workshops.
  • Manage vendor contracts and coordinate with insurance providers and third-party administrators.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data related to benefit plans and participation rates.
  • Supervise and manage a team of benefits representatives, providing training and performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of experience in benefits administration or human resources.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Presentation skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience with direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of OSU benefit and retirement systems.
  • Experience with Banner system.
