The Benefits Data Analyst at McLaren Health Care is responsible for administering, facilitating, and problem-solving within the benefits program under the general direction of the benefits leadership. This role involves performing professional and analytical work of moderate difficulty, requiring proficiency in communicating moderately complex information. The analyst will manage the development, coordination, and evaluation of benefits transaction automation, which includes developing, testing, implementing, and monitoring activities to enhance the automation of data collection, transmission, and reporting. In addition, the analyst will review, audit, test, and ensure the ongoing integrity and credibility of benefits data maintained in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and other necessary systems. Recommendations will be made to ensure the consistency of benefits data. The role also involves preparing and producing benefits and costing reports needed by various departments, including Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Budgeting, as well as governmental agencies and vendors. The analyst will be responsible for preparing and auditing monthly billing for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) plans for all groups serviced by the benefits team in the Corporate HR Services Department. Conducting research and compiling statistics regarding benefits, including enrollment, costs, utilization, and trends, is also a key responsibility. The analyst will identify problems in benefits policies and practices, making recommendations to correct issues and prepare for anticipated challenges. Assisting in open enrollment activities is another critical function, which includes planning, promoting, executing, monitoring, and adjusting the open enrollment process, as well as collecting, verifying, correcting, and transmitting enrollment data. The analyst will also be responsible for creating annual rate sheets and uploading rates for the HRIS system, along with completing and submitting third-party benefits surveys on behalf of the organization.
