About the position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a BI Analyst II to join the Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Department. This position can be based in Pleasanton, CA, Boise, ID, or one of our main regional offices, including Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ. The salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with starting salaries varying based on location, experience, and qualifications. Exceptional candidates may be offered flexibility in salary. The BI Analyst II will be responsible for delivering business solutions that involve collecting, transforming, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide key insights that support Strategic Sourcing in making informed, data-driven decisions regarding category reviews and negotiations. This role requires a keen ability to extract data from various sources across the Albertsons enterprise and utilize quantitative skills to create dashboards, reports, and metrics using a variety of business intelligence tools and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of technical expertise and business operations acumen, along with strong emotional intelligence. The BI Analyst II will partner with the Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Team to understand business needs and provide data insights. Responsibilities include analyzing large data sets, creating optimized solutions, and presenting actionable recommendations to Sourcing Managers. The role also involves aggregating data from RFI/RFP submissions to assist in creating decision matrices and preparing analytics results for presentation to leadership through visual charts, graphs, and process flows. Additionally, the analyst will create customized reports through platforms like Power BI and lead training content development for the Strategic Sourcing Team, focusing on Excel tips and tricks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver business solutions that collect, transform, analyze, and interpret data to support Strategic Sourcing decisions.
  • Extract data from various sources across the Albertsons enterprise to create dashboards, reports, and metrics.
  • Partner with the Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Team to understand business needs and provide data insights.
  • Analyze large data sets and create optimized solutions to present actionable recommendations to Sourcing Managers.
  • Aggregate data from RFI/RFP submissions and assist in creating decision matrices.
  • Prepare and present analytics results and recommendations to leaders using visual charts, graphs, and process flows.
  • Create ad-hoc customized reports through platforms such as Power BI dashboard.
  • Lead the creation of training content for the Strategic Sourcing Team, including Excel tips and tricks.

Requirements

  • Preferred degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business analytics and/or relevant education.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analytics, preferably in retail or corporate environments.
  • Knowledge of formal strategic sourcing processes and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, distribution, and logistics.
  • Experience with business intelligence visualization tools like Power BI to create impactful reports and interactive dashboards.
  • Experience in cost analysis and KPI reporting, leveraging data-driven insights for strategic decisions.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various business programs/initiatives in response to changing priorities.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, VBA, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience pulling information from databases such as Snowflake, QMF, and EDM.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • High energy level and sense of urgency in executing initiatives.
