About the position

The Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Department at Albertsons Companies is seeking a BI Analyst II to join their team. This position can be based in Pleasanton, CA, Boise, ID, or one of the main regional offices, including Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, Fullerton, CA, or Phoenix, AZ. The salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with starting salaries varying based on location, experience, and qualifications. Exceptional candidates may be offered flexibility in salary. As a BI Analyst II, you will be responsible for delivering business solutions that involve collecting, transforming, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide key insights that support Strategic Sourcing in making informed, data-driven decisions regarding category reviews and negotiations. This role requires a keen ability to extract data from various sources across the Albertsons enterprise and utilize quantitative skills to create dashboards, reports, and metrics using a variety of business intelligence tools and technologies. A unique combination of technical expertise and business operations acumen, along with strong emotional intelligence, is essential for success in this position. You will partner with the Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Team to understand business needs and provide data insights. Your responsibilities will include analyzing large data sets and creating optimized solutions to present actionable recommendations to Sourcing Managers. You will synthesize data from disparate sources into meaningful business insights, provide in-depth analytical support for various sourcing initiatives, aggregate data from RFI/RFP submissions, and help create decision matrices. Additionally, you will prepare and present analytics results and recommendations to leaders by building visual charts, graphs, and process flows, and create customized reports through platforms such as Power BI. You will also lead the creation of training content for the Strategic Sourcing Team, including Excel tips and tricks.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver business solutions that collect, transform, analyze, and interpret data to support Strategic Sourcing decisions.
  • Extract data from various sources across the Albertsons enterprise and create dashboards, reports, and metrics.
  • Partner with the Own Brands Strategic Sourcing Team to provide data insights based on business needs.
  • Analyze large data sets and create optimized solutions to present actionable recommendations to Sourcing Managers.
  • Synthesize data from disparate sources into meaningful business insights for Sourcing Managers.
  • Provide in-depth analytical support for sourcing initiatives including category reviews and new item cost analysis.
  • Aggregate data from RFI/RFP submissions and assist in creating decision matrices.
  • Prepare and present analytics results and recommendations to leaders using visual charts and graphs.
  • Create ad-hoc customized reports through platforms such as Power BI.
  • Lead the creation of training content for the Strategic Sourcing Team.

Requirements

  • Preferred degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business analytics or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analytics within retail or corporate environments.
  • Knowledge of formal strategic sourcing processes and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, distribution, and logistics.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence visualization tools like Power BI to create impactful reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various business programs in response to changing priorities.
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences in a streamlined manner.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-wide systems such as SQL, VBA, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
  • High energy level and a sense of urgency in executing initiatives.
