About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team on a contract basis for a duration of 12 months. This remote position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about data and its ability to drive decision-making processes. The BI Analyst will be responsible for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and visualizing data from various systems to create impactful narratives that inform strategic decisions. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and critical thinking to tackle complex, unstructured problems and provide actionable insights to project leaders. The BI Analyst will collaborate with various corporate groups, including Finance, HR, and IT, to ensure the smooth operational support and delivery of necessary data and information. This position involves providing guidance and support towards project strategies and processes, creating metric definitions, conducting analysis, and performing root-cause analysis. The BI Analyst will also be responsible for monitoring documentation and implementing best practices to enhance data governance and reporting processes. Candidates should possess a strong background in data analytics and reporting, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in PowerBI, data visualization, and a solid understanding of data warehouse design. This role is critical in helping our clients leverage data to make informed decisions and drive business success.

Responsibilities

  • Drive critical thinking and insight into challenging, unstructured decisions and problems and work with leaders in the project to bring those insights into action
  • Partner with various corporate groups (Finance, HR, IT, etc.) to provide needed data and information, as well as ensuring smooth operational support from them
  • Provides guidance and support toward project strategies and processes, creates metric definition and analysis, monitoring, documentation as well as root-cause analysis, and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Experience in PowerBI, Data Analytics, and Reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, business analytics, data science, or equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience designing, building, and managing dashboards, reports, and datasets in Power BI Service
  • Experience using Power Query and Power Pivot in MS Excel, as well as other advanced features of MS Excel such as VBA, advanced formulas, and more is required
  • Experience with data warehouse design and data governance best practices preferred
  • Working knowledge of project controls tools, including scheduling and EVMS tools and project control requirements is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA a bonus

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data warehouse design and data governance best practices preferred
  • Working knowledge of project controls tools, including scheduling and EVMS tools and project control requirements is a plus
