About the position

At Condé Nast, we are building a new generation of data-driven advertising and editorial products. Our team collaborates closely with engineering, data science, and internal business strategy teams, as well as the suite of brands under Condé Nast, to craft innovative technologies that enhance our media offerings. The BI & Analytics Engineer will play a crucial role in this initiative, leveraging their expertise in the media data landscape to work with large-scale first-party data sets collected through tools like Google Analytics. This position is pivotal in providing insights into consumer behavior and engagement, which are essential for driving our advertising and editorial strategies. The successful candidate will engage in discussions with various stakeholders to understand their data needs across commercial, consumer, and commerce verticals. By building positive relationships across departments, the BI & Analytics Engineer will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and the BI & Analytics team, ensuring that actionable insights are delivered effectively. This role also involves championing the DASH platform, driving its adoption, and improving overall usage within the organization. In addition to stakeholder engagement, the BI & Analytics Engineer will analyze and synthesize information gathered from business discussions, converting these insights into functional specifications. They will work with solutions teams to identify current information gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, developing analytical solutions that meet business needs. The role requires the development of analytics plans, establishment of delivery timelines, and effective communication of project progress. Furthermore, the BI & Analytics Engineer will partner with backend development teams to design and optimize data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration of BI solutions into our existing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large-scale first-party data sets to provide insights into consumer behavior and engagement.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide valuable insights.
  • Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and the BI & Analytics team to deliver actionable insights.
  • Champion the DASH platform, driving its adoption and improving overall usage.
  • Analyze and synthesize details from business discussions into functional specifications.
  • Identify information gaps and develop analytical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop analytics plans and establish delivery timelines for projects.
  • Communicate project progress effectively to stakeholders.
  • Partner with backend development teams to design and optimize data pipelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience analyzing data and delivering business insights.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database systems.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, or Power BI.
  • Experience with customer retention, email analytics, or financial reporting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift or other cloud platforms is a plus.

  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications in analytics.
