About the position

The BigQuery/SQL Developer role is focused on supporting the State of Tennessee's TN DATA platform, which involves managing various data use cases related to education, human services, and more. The position entails overseeing the complete data lifecycle, including ingestion, cleaning, and ensuring data quality, all within the Google Cloud Platform environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the TN DATA platform by managing data ingestion and cleaning processes.
• Ensure data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
• Prepare backend data for integration with frontend tools like Tableau and Power BI.
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
• Utilize Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices in development processes.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform services.

Requirements

• Experience with Python scripting for data manipulation and processing.
• Strong SQL expertise, particularly in query optimization and backend data preparation.
• Proven experience as an SQL Developer.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and practices.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes; Informatica experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Google Cloud Platform services, especially BigQuery and Dataflow.
