About the position

The Bilingual Leasing Agent is responsible for managing the leasing process for an apartment community, ensuring that all lease-related paperwork is completed accurately and timely. This role involves direct interaction with prospective and current residents, requiring strong sales skills and the ability to explain lease documents clearly. The agent will work closely with the property manager to maintain the community's operations and assist in achieving occupancy goals while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all lease-related paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Explain lease documents to new and existing residents.
  • Ensure all documents are completed prior to resident move-in.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for applicant qualification and acceptance.
  • Execute affordable housing paperwork and reporting, if applicable.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the apartment community.
  • Work with the property manager to direct on-site staff efforts.
  • Maintain prospect traffic and leasing data, assisting with computer data entry as necessary.
  • Deliver resident gifts and inspect units for move-ins.
  • Assist in planning and hosting resident functions.
  • Participate in company training classes and meetings as required.
  • Lease apartments and sell property products and services.
  • Conduct site tours for prospective residents.
  • Develop and implement excellent sales skills.
  • Optimize occupancy while maximizing effective leased rent.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies with property management staff.
  • Maintain thorough product knowledge of the property and competition.
  • Respond to resident requests and resolve complaints.
  • Follow the property lease renewal program and maximize resident renewals.
  • Transport funds to the bank as required by company policy.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and write in English fluently.
  • Good organizational and verbal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
  • Ability to close a sale.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in English and another language preferred.
