About the position

The Leasing Consultant at Bridge plays a crucial role in the multifamily unit community by effectively leasing apartments and ensuring a positive experience for prospective residents. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including greeting and qualifying potential residents, providing tours of the community, and presenting the features and amenities available. The Leasing Consultant is also responsible for closing sales, securing lease agreements, and processing applications for approval, which includes conducting rental history, credit checks, and background checks. Following up with prospects regarding their application status is also a key part of the role. In addition to leasing activities, the Leasing Consultant assists management with resident programs and retention strategies. This includes planning resident functions and gathering information about market competition in the area. The role requires adherence to Bridge policies and procedures, compliance with Fair Housing laws, and a commitment to safety by notifying supervisors of any hazards. Responsibilities

  • Greet and qualify prospective residents, providing tours of the community and presenting features and amenities.
  • Lease apartments by closing sales, securing lease agreements, and processing applications for approval.
  • Follow up with prospects regarding their application status.
  • Input information into computer systems accurately and timely.
  • Ensure apartments are ready for residents to move in on the agreed date.
  • Assist the manager in the collection of delinquent rents.
  • Assist in planning resident functions and programs.
  • Gather information about market competition in the area.
  • Follow Bridge policies and procedures and comply with Fair Housing, state, and federal laws.
  • Notify supervisors of safety hazards and follow all safety procedures.
  • Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships quickly.
  • Leasing, sales, and closing skills.
  • Competence in the use of standard office equipment including telephones, Internet, fax machine, and photocopier.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to speak Spanish and English.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of service industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the real estate or property management industry.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and regulations.
