About the position

The Bilingual Medical Assistant at Central Coast Vein and Vascular plays a crucial role in providing exceptional medical care to patients in a respectful and courteous manner. This position involves working closely with the clinical care team to ensure that patients feel welcomed and comfortable during their visits. The medical assistant is responsible for various tasks, including preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms for the day and ensure all treatment rooms are adequately stocked.
  • Unpack new shipments of supplies and verify quantities against packing slips.
  • Restock the reception area and exam rooms with patient education brochures and consent forms.
  • Monitor patient waiting times and ensure cleanliness of the reception area and restroom.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, review medical history, and assist with patient procedures as directed.
  • Obtain pre- and post-procedure photos of the patient's clinical area of concern.
  • Sterilize instruments after procedures and disinfect exam rooms.
  • Handle pharmacy messages and patient prescription refill requests within EMR.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-op procedures as requested.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure 100% patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with medical records and quality control
  • Familiarity with wound care and EMR systems
  • Ability to schedule appointments and manage patient flow
  • Strong writing skills and understanding of medical terminology

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of vascular disease (training provided)
  • Knowledge of wound care and treatment (training provided)
  • Familiarity with EVLT, RF, ClariVein, and cosmetic sclerotherapy procedures (training provided)
  • Completion of Hyperbarics course may be required
