About the position

The Bio Med Tech II position in the Biomedical Engineering department at Gadsden Regional Medical Center is responsible for managing work order control, preventive maintenance schedules, and equipment history records. This role involves assisting with staff training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing software data. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, safety tests, inspections, installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations for all patient care equipment, while also serving as an advisor to hospital committees and demonstrating cost-effective decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage work order control and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Generate parts purchase requests and maintain equipment history records.
• Assist with staff training and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Manage software data related to biomedical equipment.
• Establish and maintain technical literature and documentation for the Biomedical Program.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety tests on patient care equipment.
• Conduct incoming inspections, installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations.
• Serve as an advisor to hospital committees regarding biomedical equipment.
• Demonstrate cost-effective decision-making skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent electronic education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-7 years of industry experience or military experience with an electronics background.
• Field service maintenance experience with a medical equipment maintenance vendor is acceptable.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
