About the position

The position involves providing on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and operating room (OR) personnel during surgeries, with a focus on maximizing the efficiency and usage of Image-Guided Surgery (IGS) products. The consultant will evaluate options and problem-solve in real-time during surgical procedures, ensuring that the IGS products are utilized to their fullest potential. This role requires a deep understanding of the products and the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff to enhance surgical outcomes. In addition to direct support during surgeries, the consultant will analyze, resolve, and repair product issues through detailed analysis and engineering expertise. This includes directing and assisting Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgery, ensuring that all imaging requirements are met for optimal surgical planning. A significant aspect of the role is the education and training of physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical, and Information Technologies staff, on the use of IGS products and services. The consultant will develop and conduct training programs that enable hospital staff to implement in-house training, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The consultant will act as the primary customer liaison, maintaining contact with customers to assess satisfaction and usage levels. This relationship management is crucial for identifying opportunities to increase revenue through the sale of spare parts, upgrades, and additional services. Collaboration with the Senior Application Consultant, Area Account Manager, Key Account Manager, and Marketing Manager is essential for market transparency, upgrade initiatives, and research and development projects. Furthermore, the consultant will utilize their engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process by recommending product modifications based on feedback and observations. Attendance at meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and services is also a key responsibility, along with keeping abreast of developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products through ongoing training and individual research and analysis. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

  • Work to increase revenue via the sale of spare parts, upgrades, etc.
  • Collaborate with Senior Application Consultant, Area Account Manager, Key Account Manager, and Marketing Manager on market transparency and upgrade initiatives.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to recommend product modifications for quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong background in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a clinical or surgical environment, preferably with IGS products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support medical staff.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues in real-time during surgical procedures.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management and satisfaction assessment.

Nice-to-haves
