As a Biomedical Engineer (Regional Clinical Specialist) at Brainlab, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site consulting, guidance, and assistance to physicians and operating room personnel. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate options and problem-solve during surgeries to maximize the efficiency and usage of Image Guided Surgery (IGS) products. This position requires a strong engineering background, as you will analyze, resolve, and repair product issues through detailed analysis and the application of your engineering expertise. In addition to technical support, you will direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgeries. Educating and training physicians and hospital personnel—including operating staff, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical, and Information Technologies staff—on the use of IGS products and services will be a key part of your role. You will also develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff, enabling them to implement in-house training effectively. Acting as the primary customer liaison, you will maintain contact with customers, assess their satisfaction and usage levels, and work to increase revenue through the sale of spare parts, upgrades, and other services. Collaboration with the Senior Application Consultant, Area Account Manager, Key Account Manager, and Marketing Manager will be essential for market transparency, upgrade initiatives, and research and development projects. You will utilize your engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process by recommending product modifications and will attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and services. Staying updated on developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products and services through ongoing training and individual research will also be part of your responsibilities. This position requires a commitment to travel, with expectations of 50% travel for the first six months, as you engage with various healthcare professionals and institutions.
