About the position

The Biomedical Engineer - Senior position at Cherokee Analytics is a critical role that supports defense analytical requirements through enhanced scientific research and bio-engineering analysis. This position is designed for individuals with an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance and the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph clearance. The successful candidate will contribute to the Defense Intelligence Enterprise's integrated all-source analysis of foreign defense capabilities, providing essential insights for warfighters, defense planners, and policymakers. In this role, the Biomedical Engineer will engage in a variety of tasks including reverse bio-engineering analysis, facility and vulnerability assessments, and the production of analytic reports on foreign biomedical capabilities. The position requires a strong foundation in scientific research methodologies and the ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources. The engineer will be expected to produce timely and concise reports, assessments, and briefing materials using Microsoft Office tools and other formats. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of twelve years of related experience, with at least a portion of that experience occurring within the last two years. A Master’s degree is preferred, and candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of IC and DoD classification guidelines. Strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools are essential for success in this position. The role also involves collaboration with other members of the Intelligence Community (IC) to drive information sharing and resolve analytic disputes.

Responsibilities

  • Supports defense analytical requirements with enhanced scientific / bio-engineering research.
  • Conducts reverse bio-engineering analysis and characterizations.
  • Performs facility and vulnerability assessments.
  • Produces analytic reports on foreign biomedical capabilities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience, with at least two (2) years within the last two years.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize multiple sources of information.
  • Ability to interpret analysis and defend analytic judgments with sound conclusions.
  • Proficiency in producing reports and documents using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and organization.
  • Ability to develop structured research and maintain information within security protocols.
  • Ability to recognize nuances and resolve contradictions in information.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor category activities required to meet mission requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and collaborate with IC members.
