About the position

The Biomedical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment in hospital settings and for external clients. This role involves conducting electrical safety inspections, performance testing, and utilizing sophisticated test equipment to ensure the proper functioning of biomedical devices. The technician will analyze testing data and prepare reports, contributing to the overall safety and efficacy of medical equipment used in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain medical equipment in assigned areas of the hospital and for external clients.
  • Conduct electrical safety inspections and performance testing of biomedical equipment.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and repairs on medical devices.
  • Analyze testing data and prepare reports based on findings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols for biomedical equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology, Military or Technical Training, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance may be required if driving is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of experience in repair of biomedical equipment.
