About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Bon Vivant is responsible for managing front-of-house operations in a challenging restaurant environment that operates under extreme weather conditions. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership, ensuring exceptional service while adapting to the dynamic needs of the restaurant and its guests. The AGM will assist the General Manager in hiring and developing team members, managing budgets, and increasing sales and profits while fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage front of house operations and ensure exceptional customer service.
• Assist the General Manager in hiring and developing team members.
• Work with budgets, inventory, labor management, and profit and loss statements.
• Use tools and development provided by Telluride to grow sales and increase profits.
• Build positive working relationships with team members and guests.
• Welcome and greet guests, knowing regulars by name and their preferences.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Requirements

• Previous serving and/or bartending experience required.
• At least 1 year of assistant manager experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse employee group.
• Basic accounting skills and strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Self-discipline and initiative with a dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of computers sufficient to fulfill management functions.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of French cuisine and general familiarity with wine.
• Prior kitchen experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but a combination of experience and education will be considered.
