About The Position

As a Broadcast Media Booker at Reuters, you will play a crucial role in arranging appearances for our journalists and executives across various broadcast platforms, including television, radio, and podcasts. This position is based in our New York City office and is pivotal during a time of significant change for the company. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate with journalists, producers, and hosts to ensure seamless scheduling and preparation for media engagements. You will be expected to pitch Reuters stories to broadcast contacts when necessary and support the wider team as capacity allows. The role has a global scope, with an initial focus on the USA and the UK. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing opportunities for Reuters journalists to appear on various media platforms. This involves establishing and maintaining relationships with producers, hosts, and media outlets, as well as negotiating and confirming booking details, including dates, times, and topics of discussion. You will manage requests that come into the editorial booking mailbox and coordinate schedules between journalists and media outlets to ensure availability and preparedness. Additionally, you will assist journalists in preparing for their media appearances by providing background information, key talking points, and potential questions, and conducting pre-interview briefings and rehearsals as needed. Monitoring and evaluating the success of media appearances will also be part of your responsibilities. You will gather feedback from journalists and media outlets to improve future bookings and maintain records of all media appearances and their outcomes. Building and nurturing strong relationships with key media contacts will be essential, as you will act as the main point of contact for media inquiries related to journalist appearances. Finally, you will provide regular reports on media booking activities and outcomes, demonstrating the value of this role to the organization and analyzing trends and opportunities for increasing media exposure.
