About the position

The Adjunct/ Substitute Instructor position in Broadcasting Technology at the San Diego Community College District involves teaching various subjects related to film making, media production, radio, television, and digital media. This role is part-time and offers flexible hours, allowing instructors to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Instructors will be included in a pool for potential assignments across multiple campuses and continuing education centers, depending on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
  • Teach all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Provide quality instruction and create an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR an Associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR the equivalent.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • California Community College Instructor Credential in Communication Services and Related Technologies (valid for life).
