About the position

KBR is seeking a Budget Analyst / Mission Resource Advisor to support Headquarters Space Operations Command (HQ SpOC) at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves analyzing programs and capabilities, developing financial products, and supporting financial governance processes to ensure effective budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze programs/capabilities and develop recommended Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs.
  • Develop Execution Plans, Spend Plans, and Unfunded Requirement (UFR) submissions.
  • Develop financial products supporting the President's Budget, budget reviews, continuing resolution, initial distribution, end-of-year closeout, procurement documents / requirements documents needed and other financial drills.
  • Analyze financial aspects of programs and/or capabilities from cradle to grave.
  • Integrate operational data and financial data to advocate for mission capabilities.
  • Prioritize resources against the most critical needs.
  • Support, coordinate, and execute financial governance processes.
  • Monitor, assess, analyze, and evaluate actual performance against planned budgets.
  • Provide recommendations to improve financial management and accounting practices.
  • Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Requirements

  • A Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (Secret clearance or lapsed TS/SCI may be considered on a case by case basis), which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • BA/BS degree (5+ years of relevant experience may substitute).
  • 3+ years of budget-related experience at the Headquarters, Wing, or equivalent level.
  • Working knowledge of DEAMS (Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System).
  • Familiarity with fiscal resource and processes management tools (i.e., Resource Allocation Programming Information Decision System, Commander's Resource Integration System, Financial Management Suite, Program and Budget Execution System).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with a wide-range of customers across different organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and turn staff products rapidly in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Headquarters experience in the US Space Force, US Air Force, Combatant Command, Space Operations Command, Space Systems Command or equivalent.
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) or Level II/III FM Certification.
  • MA/MA Degree
