Budget Analyst

About the position

The Agricultural Shared Service Center and the Academic Shared Service Center, departments of the Division of Finance and Budget, are actively recruiting motivated, people-centered individuals to join their teams in the role of Budget Analyst. Work directly with the Dean, Directors, and Department Heads, to perform fiscal analysis, accounting, and budgeting of business activities for assigned units with an emphasis on excellent customer service. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Work with Directors and Department Heads of assigned area to perform fiscal analysis, accounting, and budgeting of business activities for assigned units.
• Utilize fundamental accounting skills to perform financial reporting in order for leaders to forecast, budget, monitor, and account for various funding sources across multiple project plans.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced knowledge of excel and database functions.
• Degree in business related field, preferred.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, and outside agencies.
