About The Position

The Building Coach at American Leadership Academy is responsible for facilitating the professional development of teachers at Anthem South Junior High/High School in Florence, AZ. This role focuses on improving student achievement through effective instructional practices, mentorship, and collaboration with educators. The Building Coach will work closely with teachers and administrators to enhance teaching strategies and analyze student performance data, ultimately fostering a positive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Valid AZ Teaching Certificate
  • Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 3-5 years experience as a classroom teacher with evidence of student data as proof of effectiveness
  • Trained in the Danielson Framework for Teaching (Introduction & Observation Skills)
  • Trained in the Learning Focused Conversation Method

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years experience as Instructional Coach in K-12 environment

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement.
  • Creates positive, professional relationships with teachers and administrators.
  • Communicates and demonstrates instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
  • Provides individualized, classroom-based coaching with teachers to support them in implementing sound instructional practices.
  • Provides organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed.
  • Provides support in analyzing student assessment data.
  • Assists teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data.
  • Provides support in the form of mentorship, or co-teaching to convey effective classroom management strategies.
  • Provides teachers resources related to curriculum and instruction.
  • Models effective instruction when needed.
  • Initiates the Collaborative Observation Process by scheduling observations, collecting evidence related to the Danielson Framework, and leading reflection conferences.
  • Attends RFT/SST Team, Campus and District meetings/trainings as directed.
  • Assists and/or coordinates the implementation and interpretation of a comprehensive needs assessment with Administration and Federal Programs Director.
