About the position

The Business Banker 2 position is focused on proactively growing and deepening relationships with small business clients, typically those with annual revenues of up to $2 million. The role involves presenting tailored product and service solutions to meet clients' financial goals, including deposits, treasury, and credit solutions. Additionally, the position requires community engagement through business visits, outbound calls, and educational seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the sales management process to ensure a regular calling program to clients and prospects.
  • Meet with existing clients and prospects to discuss business needs and recommend banking solutions.
  • Assist in planning portfolio growth through the development of a business plan aligned with departmental budget.
  • Coordinate with internal business partners to meet client needs and financial goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors' products and pricing in the market.
  • Review deposit profitability analysis and strategize to improve unprofitable accounts.
  • Procure updated financial information from borrowing clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicate lending decisions to clients and follow up on loan exceptions.
  • Represent the bank in civic and community functions to enhance its image and develop business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Banker.
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals, including credit products and referrals.
  • Proficient in sourcing, acquiring, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience as a business advocate.
  • Understanding of retail and small business products and strategies.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Experience sourcing small business clientele.
  • Understanding of financial accounting and analysis.
  • Experience leading or participating in local networking events.
