The Business Banking Underwriter II - Problem Loan Underwriting plays a crucial role in the evaluation and underwriting of Business Banking loans, ensuring that each loan meets the bank's lending policies and standards. This position is primarily responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers and making informed decisions based on financial and credit application information. The underwriter will manage an individual pipeline of work, which involves reviewing loan applications that typically present moderate complexity and customer exposure up to $2,500 million. The role requires the ability to utilize single approval authority for loans up to $2 million, necessitating a thorough understanding of risk assessment and borrower profiles. In addition to underwriting responsibilities, the Business Banking Underwriter II will support the overall production of the Business Banking line by performing various tasks as needed. This may include collaborating with other team members, providing insights on loan applications, and ensuring that all underwriting processes align with the bank's policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business or commercial underwriting, with at least three years of experience in a centralized lending environment.
