About the position

The Business Development role within the Fixed Income sector at S&P Global is a pivotal position that serves as the commercial arm of the product team. This role is designed for individuals who are members of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) and are planning to attend the 2024 NBMBAA Career Expo in Washington D.C. The Pricing & Reference Data team, part of the Market Data, Valuations and Analytics division, provides comprehensive services across a wide range of fixed income products, including Credit Default Swaps, Syndicated Bank Loans, and various types of Bonds. This team is recognized as a market leader, maintaining strong relationships with major asset managers, investment banks, fund administrators, auditing firms, and regulators. In this role, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between client needs and product development. You will work closely with clients to influence the direction of services, plan for future growth, and execute innovative ideas. The position requires a proactive approach to business development, including the creation of business plans and sales campaigns, client outreach through meetings and events, and collaboration with clients as design partners for new products and services. You will also be tasked with developing marketing materials and sales presentations, engaging in thought leadership, and conducting competitor analysis. Your contributions will be essential in maximizing sales revenue and client retention, as you will actively participate in sales conferences, special events, and client entertainment. This role is not only about driving sales but also about fostering long-term relationships with clients and ensuring that the services provided meet their evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of business plans and sales campaigns
  • Perform client/prospect outreach through individual meetings, seminars, conferences, and webinars
  • Work closely with clients on the development of new products and services as design partners
  • Create and develop new marketing materials and sales presentations
  • Engage in thought leadership via industry publications and blog posts
  • Collaborate with sales on product commercialization and licensing structures
  • Respond to requests for proposals
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for allocated products, providing technical information and coaching sales peers
  • Participate in sales conferences and special events, including client entertainment and association memberships

Requirements

  • Membership in the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA)
  • Experience in business development or sales within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products and market dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and marketing materials
  • Proven track record of client engagement and relationship management
  • Analytical skills to perform competitor analysis and market research

  • Base salary range of $100,379.00 to $176,444.75
