About the position

The Business Development Manager, Under Hood is responsible for expanding the company's Under Hood product sales to both current and new customers across various distribution levels. This role involves executing strategic initiatives, sales promotions, and training to enhance product visibility and sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Presents and sells NAPA category strategic initiatives and promotions to storeowners and their installer customers.
  • Partners with Regional Sales Manager and TSM/TMOD teams on inventory assessments and store readiness.
  • Achieves assigned sales presentations to commercial customers and provides field insights to drive sales.
  • Meets or exceeds territory sales quotas and trains store employees on NAPA Under Hood programs.
  • Builds long-term relationships with store owners as an advisor and business partner.
  • Organizes and leads category-specific sales blitzes in the assigned territory.
  • Delivers excellent customer service and communication to all accounts in the territory.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of assigned product lines and provides education and training to sales teams and customers.
  • Executes sales plans to achieve business growth opportunities aligned with company objectives.
  • Schedules and partners with suppliers' sales teams to maximize product-specific sales.
  • Conducts periodic account reviews to update management on key progress indicators.
  • Manages key promotional events and trade shows, sharing marketing intelligence with colleagues.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of previous selling and account management experience.
  • Proven track record of developing new business while maintaining existing accounts.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving criteria.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory, including overnight stays as required.
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, MS Office, CRM applications).
  • Demonstrated sales acumen and ability to apply sales principles effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer needs and relationship building.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Results-oriented with financial acumen to meet sales targets.
  • Deep product knowledge of specifications, features, and benefits.
