About the position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and leading business growth opportunities for Bilfinger's West Coast operations, focusing on multi-craft construction, mechanical and fabric maintenance, and NDT/inspection services. This role involves maintaining client engagement, conducting market research, and collaborating with internal teams to develop strategic growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Perform market research and analysis on relevant service line business potential.
  • Support the marketing lead with development of client-specific annual event planning, including priority industry networking/conference events.
  • Assist with business development and marketing planning to align with the annual budget, ensuring plans are in place to meet operational goals.
  • Lead sales force functions related to entering individual sales leads and produce sales reports into company booking software (Salesforce).
  • Research and report on industry, competitor, and client data.
  • Facilitate the development of presentations and other marketing material for target customers and lead the process to deliver key value-proposition points.
  • Support the proposal and operations team in developing proposals, qualifications, or other requests specific to their targeted client base.
  • Collaborate with other departments and global networking groups to help differentiate Bilfinger and develop strategic perspectives on new markets or technologies.
  • Assist management with ad-hoc requests, including special projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare management reports.
  • Observe and comply with all safety rules.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in fabric maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and construction services.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with contracts negotiation, management, and long-term service agreements.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet quick deadlines and objectives.
  • Willingness to travel routinely via airplane and/or vehicle, often for consecutive days.
  • Technical knowledge of construction and maintenance services in the oil and gas and chemical industry.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and IIR for client outreach and business plans.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing business proposals and negotiating with customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working experience using SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, and IIR.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Familiarity with various contract and commercial proposal structures.
